The Power of Reiki

When I mention the word Reiki to individuals who have yet to experience it, I get the proverbial look of—disbelief. Ultimately, I don’t blame people. The use of Reiki was only brought to the West, in 1922 by Mikao Usui. Since then, the science behind is growing rapidly according to Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM), and CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). Prestigious hospitals like Mt. Sinai in New York City, are performing research and utilizing this modality as a complimentary therapy.

Fortunately, medicine now looking at the individual as a whole— as it should. We are complex beings, with a latticework of energy systems! The integrative approach is necessary because there is a realm of mystery that cannot be explained by the human intellect or will.

The whole body is impacted by energy; energy is all around us. Have you felt the shifts in energy this year? Do you feel energy in your body now? Sure, it’s always been there, we’re just not used to naming it— energy. Energy can be the physical, emotional, mental, sensations you feel. Energy medicine is a term that can be used to describe the not so common shamanistic practices that have been around for thousands of years, to the electromagnetic imaging technology at your specialists’ office. Energy is everywhere, even if you can’t see it.

In modern living, our energy systems are overworked and compromised. We are constantly fatigued and there is a collective feeling that there’s never enough time. But if we compare modern living to hundreds of years ago, there is enough time. We— our energy systems— processed much less at a slower pace. Today, we are contending with the processing of thousands of chemicals in our food, fighting new viruses/bacteria, hearing more noise and living in more pollution. Not to mention, there’s so much stimuli flying at us from the tech world! Thus, our energy systems are almost always on the verge of fight or flight.

This is why energy medicine—Reiki— is critical for modern living. It works on repatternining these overworked systems by alleviating stress and working on your psychological, physical, emotional and mental well being. You’ll feel restored on many levels. Don’t take my word for it— feel it for yourself!
