Books that Can Help

Sometimes the right book provides inspiration, tools, and reassurance during difficult times. It's actually called a “bibliotherapy.” Below you will find a range of books that have helped me, my clients and so many others. May your journey be filled with light and empowerment!

On Panic Disorder and Anxiety

Don't Panic! H. Reid Wilson
The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook Edmund J. Bourne

I also recommend the books of Claire Weekes, MD, with the quaint titles: Hope and Help for Your Nerves and Peace from Nervous Suffering, both, sadly, out of print. A sufferer from panic disorder herself, Dr. Weekes was a pioneer in its treatment using a version of what would come to be known as cognitive behavioral therapy (on a foundation of exposure therapy); the language of her books may be a bit old fashioned, but the wisdom remains groundbreaking.

On Depression
The Mindful Way through Depression M. Williams, J. Teasdale, Z. Segal, J. Kabat-Zinn
Feeling Great by David D. Burns
